The name of rod mill is obtained by the grinding body (steel bar) in the cylinder, the rod grinding machine generally adopts the wet overflow type, and can be used as the open circuit grinding, which is widely used in artificial stone sand, concentrator, chemical sectors.
Grinding media
Rod mill grinding media is grinding rod , it is generally believed that the grinding rod length should not be more than 7 m, because the long polished bar is very easy to cause wound, therefore, the rod grinding mill length should not be too long, the grinding rod diameter is between 75 and 150 mm.
Grinding rod should have sufficient stiffness and hardness to keep straight during the process, and without bending , it should not be very brittle, and avoid the phenomenon of breaking into fragments without grand to the diameter small enough, but if we grind them to enough degree, it should be broken into small pieces for the convenience of discharging from the rod mill. For example, if the rod mill is too soft, and bend easily when the cylinder rotates, the bending phenomenon will cause the rod mill premature damage and wound ,as a result, the clean-up work is difficulty, and waste time.
Usage
Rod grinder usage can be roughly devided into the following three ways:
1)tungsten tin mine and other rare metals ore re-election , magnetic separation plant, in order to prevent the crushing caused harm, the ore rod mill is often adopted;
2) in the second stage grinding process, if the first scale is grand from 20-6 mm to 3-1 mm, rod mill is adopted in the first grinding process, production capacity is greater, efficiency is higher. Since the charge stick surface area of a certain weight rod mill is much smaller than the same weight of ball charge, the productivity and efficiency of pin crusher is much lower than the ball mill.
