Brief Introduction about the Ore Beneficiation Method.
1. Gravity Separation
The gravity separation is a mineral separation method which depends on the relative density (also named specific gravity) of mineral. The mineral particles with different densities will suffer different hydrodynamic force and mechanical force in the moving media (such as water, air and heavy liquid), which forms proper conditions for delamination and separation, so that the mineral particles with different densities can be separated.
2. Flotation Separation
The flotation separation is a mineral separation which depends on the difference of physical and chemical properties of mineral surface. Through the process of flotation agent, the useful mineral will selectively attach to the bubble, so that the purpose of separation can be achieved.
The flotation separation is mainly used for the separation of non-ferrous metal ores, such as copper, lead, zinc, sulfur, molybdenum and so on. In addition, the flotation separation also can be used for the separation of some ferrous metals, rare metals and some non-metallic ores, such as graphite ore, apatite, and so on.
3. Magnetic Separation
The magnetic separation is a mineral separation method which depends on the difference of mineral magnetism. In the magnetic field of magnetic separator, different minerals will suffer different acting force. This method is mainly used for the separation of ferrous metals (such as iron, manganese and chromium). It also can be used for the separation of non-ferrous ores and rare metal ores.
4. Electrostatic Separation
The electrostatic separation is a mineral separation method which depends on the difference of mineral conductivity. When the mineral goes through the high-voltage electric field, because of the different mineral conductivity, the electrostatic force acting on the mineral is also different, so that the mineral can be separated. This method is mainly used for the separation of rare metal ores, non-ferrous metal ores and non-metallic ores. At present, this method is mainly used for the separation and selection of mixed crude concentrate, such as the separation of scheelite and cassiterite, the selection of zircon, tantalum-niobium, and so on.
